Amit Pekam

Amit Pekam is a Director at FTI Consulting and leads the Construction, Projects & Assets practice in India. Amit is a testifying delay expert with more than 18 years of experience in the construction industry and more than six years as a delay analyst and expert. Amit has worked as a planner and contract manager, managing large-scale projects such as airports, railways, metros, industrial units, processing plants, power plants, hospitals, renewable energy projects, commercial, hotels and residential buildings. He has handled disputes in international arbitrations under ICC, SIAC and ad-hoc arbitrations in India.

Amit is a testifying delay expert skilled in identifying and simplifying the core issues for the stakeholders. More than 10 years of experience in planning and coordination, design management, project controls, tendering, post-contract administrations and contracts management enriches his outlook on construction issues. He has been appointed as an Expert Witness in ad-hoc arbitration involving disputes in India. He has been assisting other delay experts in conducting delay analysis and drafting expert reports for submissions in arbitration involving disputes in Africa, Australia, South Asia and Southeast Asia.

Amit completed an LL.M. in Construction Law and Arbitration and is a Mechanical Engineer. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. His qualifications add to his capabilities in understanding the perspectives of various stakeholders in the arbitral proceedings. His legal and technical background, relevant experience, and strong understanding of delay analysis techniques have helped the clients present robust cases in dispute proceedings.

Amit has conducted numerous training sessions on delay matters. Recently, he has conducted a session on delay matters for RICS, involving former High Court and Supreme Court judges as an audience. He has also conducted training sessions for the Public Works Department in Bengaluru and renowned infrastructure companies in India.
