Andre Brace, P.Eng., M.B.A.

Andre Brace is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and a member of the Construction, Projects & Assets practice based in Toronto. Mr. Brace has more than 20 years of experience in the execution of major capital projects in the mining, infrastructure, oil and gas, and energy industries. He specializes in advising private and public sector clients on project delivery functions across the entire project life cycle. Mr. Brace’s broad experience includes project management, engineering, procurement and construction management, as well as commercial management and dispute resolution services on large-scale complex projects. His advisory services are focused on improving project delivery, while his commercial management support includes the development, analysis and resolution of claims and contract disputes, schedule analyses and the quantification of damages resulting from delay and disruption.

Mr. Brace is a Professional Engineer and has assisted and advised owners, contractors and other construction professionals in the successful execution of projects around the world, including in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. This work has included the effective implementation and improvement of key project delivery functions such as project management, capital cost estimates, project planning, project controls, cost management, schedule management, risk management, project governance, procurement and contract management.

During his industry career, Mr. Brace worked as a Project Manager on the development and execution of a $5.5 billion open-pit copper-gold mine in Panama for more than seven years, from feasibility through to commissioning. As part of this work, he managed the development of the engineering, procurement and construction of the mine site area and the surrounding infrastructure, including the mine, mineral processing facilities, a tailings dam, hundreds of kilometers of roads, transmission lines, switchyards, substations, bridges, dams, water diversion structures, water treatment plants, overland pipelines, waste water treatment plants, buildings, workshops, warehouses and sufficient accommodation for more than 8,000 workers.

Mr. Brace has diverse project experience, including mining, mineral processing, light rail transportation, roads, bridges, dams, pipelines, transmission lines, substations, oil and gas facilities, airports, hospitals, commercial buildings and power generation facilities.

Mr. Brace is fluent in English, Spanish and French, and has experience doing business in all three languages.
