About Anita
Anita May is a Managing Director in the Media & Entertainment practice specializing in advertising, adtech, media, content, ad sales and marketing. Ms. May has more than 30 years of experience as an integrated agency leader, with expertise building successful marketing campaigns for some of the world’s best-known brands across geographies, disciplines and categories.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. May was Senior Vice President, Head of Client Solutions and Services at Hearst Magazines, where she led the in-house creative studio. In this role, she produced branded and custom content, as well as data-led, integrated commerce, content and media programs, for Hearst’s top clients. Before this role, Ms. May worked for Omnicom Media Group/Hearts & Science, where she served as Managing Executive Director, leading more than $1 billion of Proctor & Gamble’s (“P&G”) media planning, buying and activation across eight sectors.
Previously, Ms. May served as Executive Vice President, Global Account Lead for P&G at BBDO, where she led global, cross-agency marketing communications on the Gillette Venus and The Art of Shaving businesses, as well as BBDO’s regional P&G businesses, including Ariel/Tide, Whisper/Always, Braun, Olay, Pantene and Corporate/My Black is Beautiful.
Ms. May has led award-winning marketing and communications programs throughout her career, including “The Talk,” one of the most-awarded campaigns of all time. Her work has been recognized by leading industry organizations, including Cannes Lions, the Emmy Awards, D&AD and The One Show.
Prior to BBDO, Ms. May served as interim Chief Marketing Officer (“CMO”) at Intel Media, an over-the-top (“OTT”) streaming television startup, and founded IPG/OneSeven. She also worked for agencies including Y&R, Saatchi, DMBB and FCB.
Relevant Experience:
- Led Hearst Magazine’s in-house creative studio, HearstMade, creating more than 800 custom and branded advertising programs a year for key clients
- Created data-led programs for key Hearst clients, bringing together commerce, content and media to drive client revenue
- Led more than $1 billion in North American media planning, buying and activation for Omnicom Media Group’s P&G account across eight sectors
- Created globally recognized Diversity, Equity and Inclusion marketing communication programs at BBDO for P&G to drive equity for women, fight Black bias, drive business and set an example for the voice of good in the industry
- Served as interim CMO for one of the first OTT streaming television startups, Intel Media (now owned by Verizon)
