About Armen
Armen Emrikian has provided corporate restructuring advisory services to companies and their creditors for nearly 25 years. Mr. Emrikian’s expertise includes business plan assessment, financial forecasting, valuation, liquidity assessment and vendor management. He has also served in interim Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) roles for multiple clients.
Mr. Emrikian has advised clients in a variety of industries, including food and grocery, retail and consumer products, industrial distribution, telecommunications, healthcare, energy, automotive, steel and general manufacturing.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Emrikian was a Vice President in the Restructuring practice of Ernst & Young’s Corporate Finance group, where he advised in distressed company situations. Preceding this role, he was a consultant in Ernst & Young’s Strategic Transaction group, where he advised Chief Executive Officers (“CEOs”) and CFOs on transaction alternatives to drive profitable growth and enhance competitive position.
Mr. Emrikian’s clients have included Associated Wholesalers; Bally Total Fitness Holdings; Chassix; Covanta Energy; Delphi; Intermet; Metalforming Technologies; Pacific Sunwear; The Penn-Traffic Company; Quiksilver; Save-A-Lot; Serta Simmons Bedding; Spartan Stores; Telcove (formerly “Adelphia Business Solutions”); Tops Markets; and Valeo Electrical Systems.
Relevant Experience:
- Led a team in a variety of activities for Serta Simmons Bedding that culminated in a balance sheet restructuring that reduced debt levels by $1.6 billion
- Advised Save-A-Lot on a comprehensive recapitalization transaction; included the refinancing and upsizing of its asset-based lenders (“ABLs”) and a substantial deleveraging of it term loan
- Served as Associate Chief Restructuring Officer (“CRO”) for Tops Markets; managed a team responsible for liquidity forecasting and management, business plan forecasting, vendor management, lender diligence, labor modeling and Chapter 11 preparation and filings
- Advised a protein processor on liquidity enhancement opportunities and assisted in developing diligence materials for the company’s M&A process; ultimately resulted in its facilities and equipment being sold to a competing manufacturer
- Led vendor management programs for retail companies Pacific Sunwear and Quiksilver; negotiated payment terms with major vendors to ensure uninterrupted product flow
