About Ashish
Ashish Vyas specializes in developing and implementing efficient processes for the review and production of electronic data as part of FTI Technology’s Database Consulting practice. Mr. Vyas brings more than 20 years of experience in providing e-discovery services to law firms and corporations. His clients rely on him to proactively handle and solve challenges relating to emerging data sources, such as Slack, Microsoft 365 and linked content, and to develop innovative solutions that reduce overall discovery costs. He provides consulting services in litigation and investigations for clients across a range of industries, including automotive, financial services, telecommunications and pharmaceutical.
Mr. Vyas focuses on advising clients across the lifecycle of the discovery process and managing e-discovery projects. His breadth of experience and deep understanding of the technical challenges in e-discovery serve as a foundation for providing clients with strategic leadership during discovery projects. His experience includes developing efficient review workflows and applying technology assisted review methodologies in high-pressure disputes and investigations, including class action litigations, federal multi-district litigations, Department of Justice (“DOJ”) investigations and Hart-Scott-Rodino second requests. He has extensive expertise in liaising with and navigating document production requirements from the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Trade Commission and the DOJ.
Mr. Vyas works closely with clients to meet complex production specifications for large volumes of data under compressed deadlines. Mr. Vyas is also an expert in creating data reuse solutions that ensure consistent treatment of similar documents by leveraging prior work in related matters. In addition to helping clients reduce costs through data-reuse strategies, He advises clients on techniques that maximize and align resources to meet discovery deadlines.
Prior to joining FTI Technology, Mr. Vyas worked at Dechert LLP, where he focused on e-discovery matters for mass tort and product liability clients. He holds a B.A in economics with a minor in business administration from Boston University, a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law and an LL.M. in taxation from the New York University School of Law. He is also a member of the New York State Bar.
Relevant Experience:
- Managed all aspects of collection, preservation and e-discovery support during a large bankruptcy in the digital assets industry; included managing a database of more than 50 million documents and providing support to multiple law firms through several government investigations and litigations
- Served as a leader in a large technology industry second request involving significant cross-border implications; met the demands of the second request and U.S. regulators and also navigated numerous requirements from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition agency and the U.K.’s Competition and Markets Authority
- Supported a financial services firm in pre-merger DOJ clearance for its acquisition by another financial services firm
- Served as a leader and advisor for a telecommunications company during a multiyear multi-district litigation
