Brian Maddox is a Senior Managing Director of the FTI Strategic Communications segment and is based in New York. Mr. Maddox has specialized since 1985 in national media relations for public and private companies, governments and trade associations.
Throughout his three decade career Mr. Maddox has been handled media assignments at several leading communications firms, and has been with FTI Consulting since 1994. His assignments range from campaigns to generate visibility to managing communications during crises. He specializes in assisting clients in building national and international media profiles that support their communications objectives.
For clients with legislative interests, Mr. Maddox has implemented programs to convey perspectives convincingly in national and international media forums, in both print and broadcast. He has worked extensively on op-ed development and has a strong track record for top-tier placement such as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Financial Times. For many Fortune 500 companies and major companies based abroad, he has managed executive and corporate communications across the spectrum of leading media outlets.
Mr. Maddox’s crisis assignments have ranged widely. He has handled communications surrounding operating and product issues, transactions and litigation (including regulatory interventions).
Mr. Maddox’s major clients have included Allstate, Dish Network, The Dow Chemical Company, AQR Capital Management, Coca-Cola, CorpBanca, Cognizant Technology Solutions, GdF Suez (ENGIE), Dassault Systèmes, HSBC, Heineken, The Panama Canal, Reader’s Digest, SABMiller, Sesame Street, Skype, STMicroelectronics and YPF.
A native of California, Mr. Maddox earned a B.A. in Philosophy (Logic/Ethics) from Pomona College and an M.A. in French, Spanish and English from UCLA. He is also proficient in Italian and German.
Mr. Maddox is an appointee to the Mayor's Volunteer Committee in Dobbs Ferry, NY, and is on the boards of the Old Croton Aqueduct, The Dobbs Ferry Historical Society and the UNUSA, the United Nations Association in Westchester. He also serves on the Board of Advisors of Delta Capital Partners Management, a U.S.-based, global private equity firm specializing in litigation and legal finance.
