About Bryan
Bryan McCaffrey is a Managing Director in the Construction, Projects & Assets practice with project experience across a variety of sectors in both technology enablement and project delivery leadership roles. Mr. McCaffrey has supported the successful delivery of projects with budgets exceeding $1 billion, managing day-to-day project execution, process development and optimization, as well as system selection and implementation, to facilitate end-to-end execution.
A technology enablement lead on projects for major organizations globally, Mr. McCaffrey has driven the successful adoption of new systems and processes across hundreds of user groups. He is uniquely positioned to utilize his delivery background to identify ways organizations can leverage technology to optimize the execution of capital projects, ranging from establishing system requirements and design, through configuration and testing, to training and go-live.
Mr. McCaffrey is highly proficient in project cost control, schedule development and management, and commercial administration, having worked on capital projects representing both the owner and the engineering, procurement and construction (“EPC”) contractor. From establishing the controls strategy at project inception, to carrying out assurance audits, developing close-out lessons learned or identifying project recovery plans, he brings strong leadership and knowledge to enable the successful management and delivery of complex project scopes.
Mr. McCaffrey leads the identification, quantification and management of cost and schedule risk throughout the project lifecycle using techniques such as Monte Carlo simulation. He leverages Earned Value techniques to identify project trends and provide insight on the cost and schedule impacts that performance could have on a project’s successful completion, while also identifying potential mitigation strategies that could be deployed if needed.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. McCaffrey worked as a Project Controls Lead supporting the Capital Projects organization at one of the largest refineries in North America. In this role, he standardized existing processes and developed new procedures to ensure high-quality and consistent service was delivered to stakeholders for an array of focus areas, including project reporting, commercial management, change control, adoption of technology and portfolio management.
