About Bryce
Bryce Snape is a Senior Managing Director in FTI Consulting's Data & Analytics practice. Mr. Snape focuses on providing advanced data analytics, data governance and digital asset investigation services across financial services, cryptocurrency, fintech, telecom, healthcare and retail industries.
Mr. Snape has led numerous crypto and blockchain investigations involving on-chain tracing, smart contract code review, market manipulation analysis and asset recovery. His digital asset casework has included evaluating potential Ponzi schemes, pump-and-dump activity, misallocation of funds and multibillion-dollar exchange litigation. He has traced hundreds of thousands of transactions across multiple blockchains, built automated monitoring systems for suspicious activity, evaluated illiquid assets such as NFTs and provided technical guidance to counsel on subpoenas, settlement discussions and expert testimony. Mr. Snape has also supported regulatory agencies on matters involving cryptocurrency exchanges, including staking operations, ownership and control of assets and blockchain technology education. He advises companies evaluating digital asset platforms and blockchain-driven business strategies, including the potential acquisition or development of crypto trading platforms.
Mr. Snape leverages the same technical depth across his data governance and regulatory compliance work. He helps organizations build and mature data governance functions, including operating models, policies and procedures and strategic roadmaps. He has led enterprise-wide IT and data assessments against FFIEC, NIST and other regulatory frameworks for banking clients, identifying control gaps and developing remediation plans, technical documentation and bespoke policies and procedures. His regulatory experience spans Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (“CMMC”), General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR")/California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”), Servicemembers’ Civil Relief Act (“SCRA”), Dodd-Frank and comprehensive capital analysis and review (“CCAR”). He has presented directly to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, U.S. Department of Justice and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency on data methodologies and analyses.
Mr. Snape works closely with CCOs, CLOs and executive leadership to design and implement data-driven compliance and monitoring programs. This includes leading the development of technical environments, centralizing disparate data sources and building automated real-time reporting dashboards for leadership and operational teams. He led the identification and remediation of thousands of applications to meet a new regulatory requirement for a Fortune 200 company, focusing on automating the detection of sensitive data and building flexible anonymization frameworks. He also oversaw the automation of thousands of regulatory reports across global financial institutions, requiring deep understanding of complex data models, target-state architecture and data governance standards.
Mr. Snape uses his understanding of IT systems, third-party integrations and underlying architecture to evaluate compliance and remediate concerns across regulated environments. He has led multiyear engagements evaluating in-house and vendor solutions, reviewing source code and working across InfoSec, IT, legal, privacy and operations to map data flows and deliver end-to-end solutions. He also performs data migration and validation services as companies undergo system implementations and transformations.
