About Cameron
Cameron Crowell is a cybersecurity leader with more than a decade of experience leading complex incident response engagements, large-scale technical investigations and cyber crisis management matters. Mr. Crowell’s expertise includes directing complex response efforts, managing cybersecurity retainers and advising organizations and insurers on preparedness, response strategy and risk mitigation. He has supported clients across a range of industries, including healthcare, financial services, technology, blockchain, aerospace and defense.
Mr. Crowell serves as the Deputy Lead for North America’s Incident Response practice, where he leads multidisciplinary teams in responding to sophisticated cyber incidents, including ransomware, business email compromise, cyber extortion, insider threat, data exfiltration and nation-state activity. This includes mobile device threats such as spyware, exploits and espionage. He is responsible for overseeing end-to-end incident response lifecycle activities, from initial triage and containment through forensic investigation, stakeholder coordination and executive-level reporting.
Mr. Crowell has significant experience working with cybersecurity insurance carriers and external legal counsel and is regularly engaged through insurance panels to lead incident response engagements. He advises on breach response strategy, coverage-aligned investigation scoping and efficient execution under time-sensitive and high-risk conditions.
In addition to reactive engagements, Mr. Crowell leads proactive cybersecurity initiatives, including incident response retainer programs, tabletop exercises and enterprise readiness assessments. He also supports complex investigations, regulatory response efforts and matters requiring coordination with law enforcement and external stakeholders. His experience includes applying industry frameworks such as NIST, CIS and ISO, as well as navigating regulatory requirements including HIPAA, DFARS and GDPR.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Crowell was a Vice President at Citigroup’s Cyber Security Fusion Center and a founding member of Citi’s Fraud Fusion Center. In these roles, he led the development of intelligence-driven detection and response capabilities to identify and mitigate advanced cyber and fraud threats. Earlier in his career, he served as a Lead Investigator within Citi Security and Investigative Services, specializing in digital forensics, incident response, malware analysis, insider threat investigations and cybercrime. Mr. Crowell holds a M.A. in Cybersecurity and a B.S. in Computer and Information Science from Fordham University. He is a GIAC Certified Incident Handler (“GCIH”).
