About Chris
Chris Hawes is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Debt Advisory practice, where he specialises in advising corporates, lenders and investors on asset-based lending (“ABL”), receivables finance and trade finance solutions.
Chris has more than 30 years of experience across banking, private credit and advisory, specialising in the structuring and execution of working capital and trade finance facilities. He has extensive expertise in ABL, receivables finance and trade finance, helping businesses access funding to support growth, refinancing, acquisitions and other complex financing requirements.
Chris joined FTI Consulting from PwC, where he led the firm's ABL offering. Preceding this role, he held several senior leadership positions within the banking sector, including leading the UK ABL business at RBS and serving as Head of Transaction Risk Management for Global Trade and Receivables Finance in Europe at HSBC. Chris began his career with GE Capital before joining ABN AMRO, building more than 30 years of experience across banking, lending and advisory.

- Advised Endless LLP on the multijurisdictional refinancing of Veloris
- Advised a UK steel producer on the refinancing of its £160 million facilities
- Advised Sigma Pharmaceuticals on the upsize of its £50 million ABL facility with Leumi
- Advised Cleveland Containers on securing a £45 million ABL facility
- Advised Asco Group and Endless LLP on a £80.2 million ABL facility
- Advised Bladnoch Distillery on its ABL refinancing
- Advised CT Automotive on the refinancing of its working capital facilities, providing additional funding of $20 million
