Chris Van Praag

Chris Van Praag is a turnaround and restructuring professional in the Corporate Finance & Restructuring practice in New York. Mr. Van Praag has nearly a decade of experience advising companies, lenders, private placement noteholders, unsecured creditors, private equity sponsors, management teams and boards of directors in distressed situations, including Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructurings.

Mr. Van Praag’s experience includes liquidity forecasting and analysis, business plan diligence, development of waterfall and recovery analyses, financial reporting and performance assessment, stakeholder negotiations and plan of reorganization development. He also has experience advising on M&A and transaction processes, board and shareholder matters, and financing and credit agreement structuring. Additionally, he has supported executive compensation and incentive/retention plan design, strategic and operational assessments and litigation support services.

Mr. Van Praag graduated cum laude from Villanova University with a B.S. in Finance and a minor in Accountancy. He is a member of the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors and the Turnaround Management Association and serves on the Undergraduate Alumni Advisory Council of the Villanova School of Business.

Relevant Experience

• Served as the financial advisor to various lender groups and private placement noteholders related to both in and out-of-court restructurings
• Assisted the Chief Restructuring Officer (“CRO”) to restructure a $2 billion collateralized loan obligation (“CLO”) portfolio; included monetization of 12 portfolio companies
• Served as the financial advisor to various unsecured creditor committees within Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, including Phoenix Services (steel mill servicer), DBMP LLC (CertainTeed), Aldrich Pump LLC (Ingersoll-Rand) and Murray Boiler LLC (Trane Technologies)
