About Christopher
Christopher DelGrosso has more than 10 years of healthcare consulting and leadership experience and has delivered significant financial results and operational improvements for healthcare companies, hospitals/health systems, medical practices, cancer centers and health technology firms. He has specific expertise in the areas of margin improvement and financial transformation, revenue cycle management, labor and workforce development, technology assessment and implementation, robotic process automation (“RPA”) and oncology services.
Mr. DelGrosso has a proven record of successfully managing projects and teams to achieve clients’ strategic, financial and operational goals. He has consulted for several healthcare organizations with more than $2.5 billion in annual revenue as well as independent and affiliated medical practices ranging from two to more than 25 physicians. In addition to his consulting work, Mr. DelGrosso also has experience working in a leading academic cancer center as well as a health technology startup.
Teams under Mr. DelGrosso’s direction have implemented large scale electronic health record, practice management software and enterprise resource planning technologies, as well as transforming revenue cycle departments, driving organizational redesign and workforce development programs, assessing opportunities to utilize RPA and achieving performance improvement goals of increased margin, revenue enhancement and expense reduction. He led the revenue cycle operations readiness program for a major, multi-year Epic implementation at a regional health system, which resulted in a successful, go-live of all Epic applications at one time. This work included a major organizational redesign, workforce development program and development of a resource planning analytics tool to anticipate clinical and staff shortages and reduce expenditures on per-diems. Mr. DelGrosso has also led revenue cycle transformations that have included outsourcing operations, in which he managed the offshore vendor management and developed SLAs and quality/monitoring processes.
In the area of revenue solutions, Mr. DelGrosso has experience managing all aspects of the professional revenue cycle department, including pre-registration, prior authorization, coding, billing, accounts receivable and denials management and payment posting for oncology clinics. He has been responsible for more than $100 million in annual collections. In addition, he has led various practice management improvement projects and strategic initiatives focused on financial and margin improvement and business process change, including payer contract analysis and underpayments monitoring, workforce transformation and drug inventory management. He led implementation of several client billing and practice management software implementations and post-live monitoring. Mr. DelGrosso was also responsible for developed detailed analytics and reporting of key revenue cycle and practice metrics, including providing and staff productivity, margin analysis and payer scorecards.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. DelGrosso was a Manager within Ernst & Young’s Healthcare Advisory practice and was a Senior Manager at Flatiron Health, where he was part of the leadership team that developed a revenue cycle management and practice management service offering for their network of oncology clients.
