Chuck Carroll specializes in providing corporate finance, interim management, business turnaround and lender services. Mr. Carroll has 25 years of experience, with expertise in many industries including construction, consumer products, energy, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, mining, entertainment and retail.
Mr. Carroll’s engagement experience includes business diagnostics and strategic plan development; capital structure review; cash management; corporate overhead review and reduction implementation; debt negotiations; and repayment strategies. In addition, he advises on financial statement analysis, financial projection development, valuation and plan of reorganization formation and negotiation.
Clients of Mr. Carroll have included management of middle market and multi-billion dollar companies; senior lenders of a major international power producer with over $10 billion in short- and long-term debt; the lending group of a $1.5 billion textile company; and a 75-member lending group of a $3 billion nursing home operator. Mr. Carroll’s notable engagements include American Midstream, American Plumbing & Mechanical, Babcock & Wilcox, Blockbuster, Bruno’s, ClubCorp, Discovery Zone, Encompass Services, Fiesta Supermarkets, GasMark, Global Power Equipment Group, Hostess Brands, Integrated Electrical Services, McDermott International, Midcon Offshore, Minorplanet Systems, NR Marine, Orthodontic Centers of America, Patriot Coal, Pillowtex, Q-Entertainment, Quality Beverage, Reliant Energy, Stanley Stores and Sun Healthcare.
The energy industry is a key area of focus for Mr. Carroll. Power producers, major refiners, oil field servicers, crude pipeline and storage operations, exploration and production companies (both on- and off-shore), coal mining companies, and alternative energy producers are among the clients and companies that he has advised. Notable engagements include advising the company or lenders on a $10 billion power producer, a $12 billion refining company, a multi-billion dollar solar developer, a Texas co-generation power plant, two Appalachian coal companies, a major crude pipeline and storage/asphalt storage MLP, a New Orleans based exploration and production (“E&P”) company, a South American E&P company, a Mid-Continent and Niobrara basin E&P company, two Mid-Continent and other areas E&P companies, and an offshore drilling rig operator. In addition, he served as interim Chief Financial Officer of a biodiesel company.
Mr. Carroll has spoken extensively on energy industry challenges and trends with numerous organizations and has been published in both the ABI Journal and the Dallas Morning News on energy issues. He has also received multiple business turnaround or M&A deal of the year awards for recent matters, including Hostess Brands, Pacific Exploration & Production and Midstates Petroleum Company.
