About Clara
Clara McGrail is a Managing Director in the Strategic Communications segment at FTI Consulting and is based in Washington, D.C. Ms. McGrail is part of the segment’s Public Affairs practice and works on the Energy & Natural Resources team.
Ms. McGrail develops and executes public affairs strategies and communications campaigns for clients in the energy production, utilities, plastics and agricultural sectors in the United States and across the Americas. She also provides clients with counsel related to crises, litigation, research and content development. She has helped her clients through numerous periods of federal comment for regulation and project approval.
Ms. McGrail has helped oil, gas and petrochemical clients successfully deploy media and stakeholder engagement strategies to navigate regulatory concerns and environmental activism, securing permits and favorable records of decision for large-scale infrastructure projects. Her work in plastics has broadly focused on issues surrounding the climate and sustainability benefits of plastic use and the need for increased responsible waste management.
Previously, Ms. McGrail was a communications manager at the Charles Koch Institute and Foundation, where she led the organizations’ content strategies and worked on public education campaigns for national policy issues, which saw state and federal successes in criminal justice reform and foreign policy.
Ms. McGrail holds bachelor’s degrees from Fordham University in English and Political Science and a master’s degree in English from Georgetown University. She is a nationally ranked yoga athlete.
