Craig Ballard

Craig Ballard has more than a decade of restructuring experience advising senior lenders, corporates and private equity investors in stressed and distressed situations.

Mr. Ballard specialises in capital structure modelling, business reviews, due diligence and cash management. He has experience in contingency planning and formal insolvency engagements across a wide range of sectors, including renewables, oil and gas, shipping, construction, retail and healthcare.

Mr. Ballard holds a M.Phys. in theoretical physics from the University of Leeds. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2015 and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Ballard spent four years at BDO LLP where he spent time in both the restructuring and audit teams.

Relevant Experience:

• Advised the lenders and export credit agencies (‘ECAs’) in relation to a mid-construction offshore windfarm project
• Provided financial advisory services to the lenders of a diversified international shipping company with $1 billion of debt
• Provided independent business review, modelling and financial advisory engagement for a listed exploration and production (‘E&P’) company with worldwide assets and $3 billion of debt
• Provided independent business review and financial restructuring services to a leading UK retailer; included a detailed analysis of the retailer’s store portfolio
• Advised the lenders of a sponsor-owned recruitment business
