Daniel Hamilton

Daniel Hamilton is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in London. He is part of the Public Affairs practice, and its Corporate Communications practice in European, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

A dual British and Brazilian national, Daniel has more than a decade of experience in providing political and communications counsel, having worked across consultancies, think tanks and as a professional political advisor. He advises clients on public affairs and strategy challenges across a number of fields including defence, foreign governments, FMCGs, technology and financial services.

An expert in international government relations and communications campaigns, Daniel has successfully completed projects in the former Soviet Union (Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine), Baltics (Lithuania and Latvia), Balkans (Serbia and Montenegro), South America (Brazil, Colombia and Uruguay) and Africa (South Africa, Malawi and Zambia).

Prior to joining FTI Consulting in 2015, Daniel worked for a leading competitor, heading their political and regulatory engagement with the European Union. Previously he was the Director of Big Brother Watch, leading both political and media campaigns on civil liberties issues and served as Head of European Insight at the market research firm ComRes, responsible for the company’s European-focused research offering, including investor, parliamentary and regulatory stakeholder research.

Daniel served as the Head of Office for a Member of the European Parliament sitting on the Foreign Affairs and Development Committees, focused upon international trade, intellectual property protection and overseas investment.

Daniel has been a member of the Conservative Party for two decades and previously served as an elected borough councillor. He is a Freeman of the City of London and is a regular media commentator on political developments in Eurasia and Latin America.
