Dr. Devalina Chatterjee has over 10 years of experience in conducting extensive economic research and analysis in consulting and academia.
Dr. Chatterjee specialises in the evaluation and estimation of damages, with a focus on intellectual property. Her experience spans a wide range of industries including high-tech, software, consumer goods, automobile parts, biotech and pharmaceutical products.
Dr. Chatterjee has expertise in applying economic theory, statistics, and complex econometrics tools to analyse damages, calculate reasonable royalties, and lost profits. She also conducts economic research and analysis concerning issues arising from patent and trademark infringement, the misappropriation of trade secrets, breaches of contract and antitrust issues.
Some of Dr. Chatterjee’s notable works include having served as the lead consulting expert to calculate damages due to infringement of patents by applying the Georgia-Pacific factors, theft of trade secrets by applying the theory of unjust enrichment, applying regression analysis and conducting sensitivity analysis, both on behalf of plaintiff and defendants.
Dr. Chatterjee also served as a lead consulting expert to calculate lost profits in the consumer goods industry due to a breach of contract, and trademark infringement by applying regression models to damages analysis, benchmark analysis and the before-and-after method.
