About Dr. Emily McIntosh
Dr. Emily McIntosh is a senior data and artificial intelligence professional with more than 15 years of experience helping organizations develop, govern and operationalize advanced analytics and AI technologies. Dr. McIntosh specializes in AI strategy, governance, risk management, solution development and the responsible deployment of emerging technologies and has worked across the technology, financial services, healthcare and manufacturing sectors, advising clients on technology issues that demand trust, transparency and business velocity.
Dr. McIntosh has directed large, cross-functional teams on global analytics and technology engagements, coordinating across data, technology, legal, finance and compliance functions. Her experience includes multifaceted investigations, disputes and departmental transformation engagements involving a variety of data sources, including financial, sales, HR and sector-specific datasets such as technology activity, electronic medical records and patents. In addition to directing the development of technical solutions, she regularly assists clients in developing and executing their data and AI strategies, with a particular emphasis on AI governance.
Dr. McIntosh is an active thought leader in the AI and analytics space. She serves on the Sedona Conference’s Artificial Intelligence Working Group Steering Committee, where she is the liaison for the AI Governance Project Team, and is a frequent speaker and author on topics including AI, governance, analytics and legal technologies.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Dr. McIntosh served as a Senior Manager in Ernst & Young’s Forensic & Integrity Services practice. She is also active in the academic community as an Adjunct Professor in the Lyle School of Engineering at Southern Methodist University, where she teaches courses in engineering management, management of information technologies, systems engineering design, and probability and statistics for analytics.
