Roman Rabinovich

Dr. Roman Rabinovich is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Telecom, Media & Technology (“TMT”) industry practice. With more than 17 years at the firm, Dr. Rabinovich specializes in analytically complex, cross-disciplinary engagements spanning corporate finance, business strategy, economics, game theory, statistics and advanced theoretical and computational analysis. His areas of expertise include high-stakes auctions, pricing strategy, asset and business valuation, performance improvement, due diligence and litigation support.

Dr. Rabinovich is a recognized expert in spectrum auction advisory with unparalleled experience supporting clients through every phase of auction participation. He has advised incumbents and new entrants across North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America on dozens of high-stakes spectrum auctions. His contributions include auction software design, bidding strategy, IT and security coordination, war room planning, war gaming execution, team training and simulations, and spectrum valuation. His experience covers a wide variety of auction formats, including combinatorial clock auctions (“CCA”), simultaneous multiple round auctions (“SMRA”), sealed bid, descending clock and custom real-time mechanisms.

Dr. Rabinovich has extensive experience in business and asset valuation across strategic, regulatory and litigation contexts. He has led valuation efforts for low-, mid- and high-band spectrum and advised on high-profile disputes and transactions involving wireless spectrum and telecom infrastructure.

Beyond wireless, Dr. Rabinovich has led corporate finance and strategic advisory projects across the telecommunications, publishing, entertainment, technology and software sectors. He has worked with clients in the wireless, competitive local exchange carriers (“CLEC”), media, broadcasting, motion picture, online commerce and enterprise software industries.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Dr. Rabinovich conducted theoretical and experimental research in cluster physics. He led academic research initiatives, taught undergraduate and graduate courses and authored 11 scientific publications in leading peer-reviewed journals.
