Dustin Olver has a depth of expertise, specializing in corporate restructuring. He has over 15 years of experience and has worked for and with large and small, public and private companies, in a variety of industries including oil and gas exploration and production, oil field services, transportation and logistics and real estate.
Mr. Olver’s recent restructuring engagements include working on the Chief Restructuring Officer engagement of Tuscany International Drilling Inc., a provider of contract drilling and work-over services to the oil and gas industry in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Africa. Mr. Olver also acted as the Court Appointed Receiver for Pacer Promec Energy Corporation, an oil field services construction company working on the Horizon oilsands project, Twin Butte Energy Ltd., Solara Exploration Ltd., Argosy Energy Inc. and Eagle Energy Inc., all of which are publicly traded oil and gas exploration and production companies with operations in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
In addition, Mr. Olver was the Monitor in the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (“CCAA”) proceedings of Clayton Construction Group, a construction company with operations throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta, Coalspur Mines Operations, a coal mine located in Hinton, Alberta with over $500 million in debt and for various large oil and gas exploration and production companies, including Argent Energy Trust, Quicksilver Resources Canada Inc. and Lightstream Resources Ltd., which had over USD$1 billion of debt upon entering CCAA. Mr. Olver also has acted as financial advisor to banks and noteholders with large positions in various publicly traded distressed oil and gas companies.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Olver was a Manager in the Transactions and Advisory Services group at Ernst & Young and more recently worked in the Finance department of Mullen Group Ltd., a large public oilfield service and transportation/logistics company with operations across Canada.
