Ferdinand Gehringer

Ferdinand Gehringer specializes in strategic advisory services for companies operating in the defense, security and critical infrastructure sectors. Ferdinand advises industrial companies, defense technology start-ups, critical infrastructure operators and investors on identifying market opportunities, developing and implementing business strategies and positioning themselves effectively within the political and regulatory landscape. His advisory approach focuses on aligning business interests with security and defense policy developments to identify concrete strategic opportunities and courses of action.

Ferdinand combines expertise in strategic communications and public affairs with in-depth knowledge of German and European security and defense policy, regulatory frameworks and public funding instruments. He also advises companies on economic and corporate security, particularly on assessing security risks, strengthening resilience and protecting against hybrid threats.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ferdinand served as Policy Advisor for Internal Security and Cybersecurity at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, where he advised members of parliament, governments and international organizations. He is co-author of “Deutschland im Ernstfall” (Germany in a State of Emergency) and regularly provides expert commentary on security policy in German media.
