Francesco Leone has significant experience in operational turnaround, strategic planning and performance improvement, blending management consulting and managerial expertise to drive operational improvements and crisis recovery plans.
Francesco also has expertise in leading the design and execution of large turnaround programmes, cost rationalisation, organisation optimisation, liquidity management and cash flow improvements, for large international corporations, mid-market and financial shareholders, mainly in industrial goods and consumer products.
Francesco has also served in interim executive and managerial roles, including as Chief Transformation Officer (CTO).
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Francesco led the turnaround and transformation team in Italy, Greece, Turkey and Israel at The Boston Consulting Group. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director at a turnaround specialist firm, where he spent 14 years, delivering holistic turnaround programmes for distressed and underperforming companies in complex turnaround situations.
- Chief Transformation Officer and Board member role in the operational and financial restructuring of a major Italian multi-brand/multi-channel apparel company. Managed the carve out and relaunch plan, set-up and managed key support functions and the organisation redesign.
- Led the turnaround plan design and implementation for a leading manufacturer of industrial tyres. Led the cross-company cost reduction plan (with over €40m of full potential benefits identified and collected in both direct and indirect costs), and conducted organisation streamlining and key processes review.
- Provided design and execution support for the turnaround programme of the powertrain division of a global automotive tier 1 supplier, identifying priority areas for intervention. Established the set-up of a detailed implementation roadmap and programme governance, and led co-ordination of the transformation office.
- Led the operational and financial restructuring of a major worldwide player in the crane sector. Led the cash and vendor management, production planning, preparation of the detailed restructuring plan, and negotiations with trade unions. Also conducted interim management activities in the purchasing and finance area.
