Gajan Sritharan

Gajan Sritharan is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Office of the CFO Solutions practice in London. Gajan brings more than 25 years of deal experience advising senior stakeholders on strategy execution, regulatory requirements and value delivery in the context of complex transactions.

Gajan’s perspective spans both senior advisory and corporate roles; alongside his career in professional services, he has worked in-house within the M&A teams of two oil majors, where he was responsible for delivering deal-related finance transformations.

Gajan specialises in integration and separation programs aligned to the CFO agenda, finance function architecture and transformation, IPO readiness, data and reporting governance, and finance technology enablement. He has deep experience across the energy, consumer, chemicals and media sectors, and has supported some of their largest and most complex transactions in recent years.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Gajan was a Director in the Deal Advisory team at KPMG, where he co-founded and ran the finance in M&A team, supporting CFOs through the deal lifecycle.

Relevant Experience:

• Led the stand-up of a greenfield finance function following carve-out, covering organisation design, service delivery model, finance systems implementation and controls, from Day 1 readiness through TSA exit
• Directed multiple buy-side due diligence engagements focused on the CFO office, including pre-completion deep dives on finance operating model, forecasting, controls and reporting
• Served as program manager, defining statutory, statistical, tax and internal reporting requirements and underlying data models; standardised data governance and analytics, redesigned the chart of accounts (’CoA’) and upgraded consolidation to meet public company reporting requirements
• Worked with strategy and finance leadership to integrate and consolidate finance across newly acquired entities; strengthened forecasting, delivered consolidated statutory reporting, set target finance operating structure and achieved approximately 25% cost synergies
• Served as program manager and established end-to-end reporting, data governance and finance systems changes (including CoA and consolidation) to meet listed-company financial planning and public reporting needs
