About Glenn
Glenn Barden has extensive e-discovery experience as an expert advising clients on the use of technology to defensibly reduce data volumes and quickly locate key material during document reviews. Mr. Barden has led teams working on some of the highest-profile investigations, arbitrations and regulatory matters in the UK and throughout Europe.
Mr. Barden has been at the forefront of the application of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics for discovery purposes in the UK for more than 15 years. He has developed cutting-edge methodologies using these techniques and has provided expert industry analysis to the European Commission and other authorities. Mr. Barden has led matters across a vast range of industries, including financial services, life sciences, aviation, insurance and the public sector.
Specialising in proactively advising on defensible but proportionate disclosure, Mr. Barden focuses on challenging technical output and analytics methodologies used in opponents' disclosure. He has been heavily involved in mergers and acquisitions matters involving regulators, including the European Commission, the Competition and Markets Authority and the Norwegian Competition Authority.
Prior to joining FTI Technology, Mr. Barden was a manager in the Forensic Technology and Discovery Services team at EY, where he formed part of the Relativity leadership team.
Relevant Experience:
- Managed the collection and processing of large volumes of data, including Microsoft 365 email, OneDrive, Teams and corporate laptops and file servers from sources in France, Spain and the UK for a complex, cross-jurisdictional merger review
- Advised on the implementation of a defensible strategy to collect, review and produce data from numerous custodians, analysing more than 3.9 million documents to identify and refine potentially responsive materials
- Provided vast experience on cross-jurisdiction engagements, notably in Belgium, Russia and Sweden, ensuring local regulatory compliance whilst reducing data volumes through blind cross-platform deduplication
- Led a media-sensitive criminal investigation involving the collection, scanning, review strategy and production of paper material on the client’s site
