Gregory Phelps

Gregory Phelps brings more than 25 years of experience providing e-discovery and litigation consulting services to clients in a variety of industries. Mr. Phelps specializes in assisting legal counsel with large complex legal matters, including governmental inquiries, litigations and cross-border investigations.

Mr. Phelps works directly with clients to deliver comprehensive e-discovery solutions, from initial project planning and case management through to the completion of matters, with an emphasis on efficiency. Leveraging his financial expertise to advise upon fraud investigation engagements, Mr. Phelps manages internal investigations on behalf of boards of directors, audit committees, general counsel and nonmanagement equity partners. He also supports clients and FTI Technology teams in delivering complex, high-stakes managed document review and e-discovery projects in response to regulatory investigations, including Hart-Scott-Rodino second requests.

Mr. Phelps’ advisory experiences include performing damage analysis involving lost sales, incremental profits and business interruption. Industries in which he brings significant experience include computer software, financial services, gaming, automotive, healthcare, pharmaceutical, telecommunications, manufacturing, retail and nonprofit administration.

Prior to FTI Technology, Mr. Phelps served as a Director in the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Dispute Analysis and Investigations practice.

Relevant Experience:

• Assisted in the e-discovery process for a large global automotive manufacturer; included managing geographically dispersed in-house and outsourced contract reviewers and navigating multiple governmental agency investigations, as well as resulting litigation
• Led an internal investigation involving a Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) registrant whose restatement exceeded $100 million related to the company’s stock option granting procedures; worked directly with outside counsel for the Special Committee of the Board of Directors and presented to the Department of Justice, SEC and the company’s auditors
• Managed a recovery of more than $200 million in a breach of contract lawsuit against the U.S. government on behalf of a failed savings and loan institution
