Gustavo Morales Oliver

Gustavo Morales Oliver has more than 20 years of experience advising clients across Latin America in internal and government investigations, compliance, anti-corruption, litigation, M&A, cross-border matters, business intelligence, risk management and crisis management. A major part of that experience has involved articulating and implementing strategies with external and in-house legal counsel, as well as with board members and executives in a wide range of matters.

In his role at FTI Consulting, Gustavo works closely with the Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment and the Risk & Investigations team in Latin America, the United States and Canada, helping clients identify and resolve regulatory and political challenges, manage investigations, litigation and disputes; develop compliance programs, manage risks and crises and obtain and analyze relevant information for making informed decisions.

Before joining FTI Consulting, Gustavo was partner and Chair of the Compliance, Anti-corruption & Investigations practice at a major law firm in Latin America. During his long career at this firm Gustavo also earned significant experience in M&A and litigation. Early in his career, he earned experience in the public sector and as in-house counsel. He was also a foreign attorney at Yuasa and Hara in Tokyo, Japan.

Gustavo is admitted to the Buenos Aires Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association, and over the years he has been singled out as a leading practitioner by the most relevant international rankings including Chambers & Partners, Who’s Who Legal (“WWL”) and The Legal 500.

For more than a decade Gustavo has published articles with the most prestigious local and international publications and has been a frequent speaker and professor at leading universities, conferences, courses and graduate programs in Latin America, the United States and Europe. Gustavo is also co-director and co-author of the Compliance Treatise, published by Thomson Reuters, and former chairman of the Compliance Committee at Colegio de Abogados de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires.
