Jake Lensing is a Senior Director in the Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment and is based in Boston. As a member of the Risk & Investigations practice, Mr. Lensing specializes in forensic accounting investigations, post-merger and acquisition disputes, representation and warranty insurance (“RWI”) claims, digital asset investigations and complex financial analyses.
Mr. Lensing advises clients and counsel on merger and acquisition-related disputes arising from corporate transactions, including matters involving the application of U.S. GAAP, working capital adjustments, earnout calculations and allegations of financial statement misrepresentation. He has performed complex damages and valuation analyses in connection with alleged breaches of representations and warranties in stock and asset purchase agreements, fraud and other contractual disputes. Mr. Lensing also has experience serving in neutral roles assisting parties in the resolution of accounting and purchase price disputes.
Mr. Lensing has significant experience leading and supporting digital asset and blockchain investigations involving fraud, regulatory inquiries, bankruptcy proceedings and commercial disputes. He has conducted complex on-chain tracing and flow-of-funds analyses involving cryptocurrency exchanges, decentralized finance (“DeFi”) protocols, staking mechanisms, token contract analysis and crypto-to-fiat conversion. His experience includes matters involving alleged asset misappropriation, investor loss analyses, blockchain-based fraud and the tracing of digital assets across multiple blockchains, centralized exchanges, decentralized exchanges and self-custodied wallets. Mr. Lensing has also advised counsel on discovery strategies and analyzed complex blockchain and financial datasets, including preparation of expert reports and testimony.
In addition, Mr. Lensing routinely manages forensic accounting investigations involving allegations of financial misstatement, asset misappropriation and corporate governance matters. His work includes analyzing accounting records, financial statements, transactional data and blockchain activity to identify irregularities, assess compliance with accounting standards and evaluate complex financial issues in investigation and litigation settings.
