James Bulloss

James Bulloss is a Managing Director in the Turnaround & Restructuring practice at FTI Consulting. James has 18 years of restructuring experience, advising companies, lenders and investors on debt, capital structure and strategic matters through periods of financial stress, transformation and change.

James has advised on large cross-border mandates as well as mid-market situations, with experience spanning business reviews, options analysis, capital structure modelling and contingency planning. He has also led transaction execution, restructuring plans and formal insolvency processes.

James is known for his hands-on, pragmatic and collaborative approach. He works closely with clients, stakeholders and other advisers to bring clarity to complex situations, build consensus and develop practical, implementable solutions that maximise value. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, James was a Director at PwC, where he held a number of senior roles on a number of high-profile UK and European restructuring assignments.

Relevant Experience:

• Served as lead adviser to a market-leading national retailer on a successful amend and extend transaction
• Advised a water and waste business serving millions of customers on cost-saving opportunities and its medium-term capital structure
• Served as lead adviser to a special purpose acquisition company (“SPAC”) seeking to acquire the assets of an insolvent listed oil and gas exploration and production (“E&P”) group
• Served as lead adviser to a lender whilst it supported the sale and refinancing of a prominent national retailer
• Advised a syndicate of asset-based lending (“ABL”) lenders on their facilities to a pharmaceutical group with circa $5 billion revenue
• Served as lead adviser to an NHS Trust on its acquisition of a distressed key national supplier
• Advised a leading global professional services firm on the carve-out of its Russian operations
