James Chapman brings extensive experience in providing strategic and advisory insight to resource companies, specialising in managing complex business and operational transformations. James has more than three decades of experience in technical advisory and transformation leadership across the mining and resource sectors.

James specialises in designing and implementing integrated operating models, driving value chain and asset productivity and aligning strategic initiatives for operational excellence. His strength lies in a holistic perspective, critical thinking and an ability to build strong working relationships to deliver high-value and quality outcomes.

James has led large-scale transformation initiatives worldwide for more than 20 years, with a strong emphasis on enhancing operational efficiency and boosting productivity. He possesses in-depth expertise along the entire mining value chain, consistently identifying and delivering improvement. James has acted as a trusted advisor to mining executives and senior leaders, providing guidance on achieving operational excellence and advancing productivity.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, James served as the Global Operations Leader for a Big Four organisation, specialising in mining business improvement, leading numerous high-profile engagements. Before his career in consulting, James held senior leadership roles in mining, including Head of Integrated Planning for Rio Tinto Iron Ore.
