About Jesse
Jesse Sucher is a Senior Director at FTI Consulting, where he advises clients on geopolitical risks like sanctions, investment screening and other complex issues at the nexus of business and national security. With over 15 years of experience across the U.S. government and private sector, Mr. Sucher provides subject-matter expertise to multinational corporations, financial institutions, investors and their counsel.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Sucher served in senior roles at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. In the Office of Investment Security, he was the Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Investment Security, covering the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (“CFIUS”) and the Outbound Investment Security Program. Mr. Sucher was also a Deputy Director and founding member of the first enforcement arm of CFIUS, where he helped modernize CFIUS compliance and enforcement practices. In the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”), Mr. Sucher led complex sanctions investigations as well as helped develop and implement new sanctions policies and programs. He also represented the Treasury as a technical authority on economic sanctions at National Security Council (“NSC”) meetings, congressional briefings and international delegations. He received several awards during his government service, including the Secretary of the Treasury’s Meritorious Service Award. Before working for the Treasury, he worked for another global consulting firm.
Mr. Sucher holds a B.A. in Political Science from Middlebury College and a M.S. in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Outside FTI, Mr. Sucher is a non-resident senior fellow in the Atlantic Council.
