About Jodi
Jodi Porepa has close to 20 years of experience in corporate restructuring and insolvency, focusing on assisting financially troubled companies, undertaking business reviews and developing and implementing reorganization strategies both in out-of-court restructurings and formal proceedings. Ms. Porepa provides advice and support to corporate clients, boards of directors, legal counsel, and lending institutions.
Ms. Porepa has supported and guided private and public companies in domestic and cross-border cases, with operations across Canada, United States, Hong Kong, China, South America and Japan. Ms. Porepa has experience across a variety of industries, including automotive, airlines, cannabis, biopharmaceuticals, food distribution, forestry, insurance, mining, manufacturing, media/radio/publishing, pay-day lending, pulp and paper, retail and public sector.
Ms. Porepa is a trusted leader for out-of-court and in-court restructuring activities, including monitoring and forecasting liquidity, assessing restructuring strategies and assisting with implementation, prepackaged bankruptcy filings, liquidations, stakeholder negotiations and operational restructurings. She was also recently involved in the restructuring of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, advising the Financial Oversight and Management Board on the Commonwealth’s budget as well as other financial and economic analysis.
Prior to rejoining FTI Consulting in Toronto, Ms. Porepa worked for Ernst & Young in New York, as well as PricewaterhouseCoopers in Toronto and New York.
Ms. Porepa holds a B.B.A. from York University, Schulich School of Business. She is a Licensed Insolvency Trustee, Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional and is a member of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals, as well as a member of the Turnaround Management Association. Ms. Porepa is also a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Accountant.
As a thought leader in her industry, Ms. Porepa's most recent published works and speaking engagements include an article in the TMA Journal of Corporate Renewal titled Restructuring Trends in the Cannabis Industry in Canada and the U.S. (2021), and a moderator role on an FTI Consulting Women's Initiative (WIN) panel named Through the Looking Glass: A Financial View of the Post-Pandemic World (2021).
