About John
John J. Huber is an Affiliate of the FTI Consulting Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice and is based in Washington, DC. Mr. Huber provides consulting services and expert witness testimony in the areas of securities offerings, strategic transactions, corporate disclosure, restatements, internal control over financial reporting and corporate governance. He will also provide assistance to companies facing SEC Staff comments, FCPA investigations and SEC enforcement actions, including deferred prosecution agreements and monitorships.
As a senior partner and Of Counsel at the law firm of Latham & Watkins LLP for 25 years, Mr. Huber specialized in corporate and securities law. Mr. Huber is a former director of the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Division of Corporation Finance. During his 11 years at the SEC, he was responsible for the Division’s rulemaking program for the integrated disclosure system, shelf registration, going private and the first permanent rules governing tender offers. He supervised the Division’s review and comment process of filings by public companies.
Mr. Huber is an editor of The Practitioner’s Guide to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, published by the American Bar Association. He is a former chairman of the ABA’s Subcommittee on Securities Registration and the ABA’s Task Force on Regulation FD as well as a former member of the NASD’s Corporate Finance Committee. Mr. Huber is a frequent speaker at securities law and accounting conferences.
