About Jordan
Jordan Slater works on a wide range of client engagements, including strategic advisory, financial due diligence, capital markets advisory, litigation support and other real estate related matters. Mr. Slater has more than 15 years of experience in the real estate industry.
Mr. Slater’s current responsibilities include advisory services involving complex financial modeling and analyses for institutional investors, developers, asset managers and legal counsel. Mr. Slater has extensive experience with fund, joint venture and real estate development modeling, property and business/platform valuations and investment due diligence across a broad range of asset classes and transaction types. He also advises clients on transaction strategy, deal structuring considerations and asset management process optimization.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Slater was a commercial mortgage underwriter at New York Community Bank (“NYCB”), where his primary responsibilities included financial analysis, credit analysis and due diligence. In his time with NYCB, he underwrote more than $3 billion in commercial mortgages, including refinancing, acquisition financing and construction loans.
Prior to NYCB, Mr. Slater worked for Corporate Realty Consultants as a market research associate. There, he worked with Fortune 500 corporate real estate users, assisting in lease negotiation, property acquisition and disposition and market analysis.
Mr. Slater is a licensed and registered Investment Banking Representative as a member of FTI Capital Advisors, FTI Consulting’s wholly owned investment banking subsidiary.
Relevant Experience:
- Advisor to global real estate asset manager on joint venture (“JV”) waterfall modeling and operating agreement language, advising on structure and negotiated terms and improving reporting capabilities
- Led development of financial models for private equity real estate funds and separately managed accounts with complex fee and distribution structures, including projection models, NAV reporting and carried interest calculations
- Led development of property- and portfolio-level cash flow models across stabilized, value-add, ground-up development, and recapitalization strategies
- Advised senior lender through complex commercial real estate (“CRE”) foreclosure, identifying cash diverted from a lockbox and assisting in the development of legal and asset recovery strategies, ultimately recovering the underlying asset
