About Jorge
Jorge A. Padilla is a Senior Director in the Strategic Communications segment at FTI Consulting. He is the co-head of the segment’s team in Mexico, specializing in public affairs, government and media relations across several industries, including energy, industrials, and infrastructure.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Padilla worked for 20 years with REFORMA Group. While there, he served as Deputy Editor-In-Chief of Mexico's leading newspaper REFORMA, overseeing award-winning coverage of the Business, Technology and Automobile sections of the newspaper. In this capacity, he covered key issues such as energy and telecommunications reform, as well as The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) negotiations.
Previously, Mr. Padilla co-led MURAL Newspaper in Guadalajara (part of REFORMA Group), where he was responsible for the news from the states of Jalisco, Michoacán, Colima, Aguascalientes, Sinaloa, Nayarit and Guanajuato.
Before joining REFORMA, Mr. Padilla worked as a political analyst for Banco Nacional de México (BANAMEX), where he provided political analysis to national and foreign investors.
Mr. Padilla also worked for the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) where he contributed to the development of pension reform in Mexico.
Mr. Padilla holds an M.Sc. from the School of Media and Communications at the London School of Economics and a B.A. in Political Science from Mexico’s Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM).
