About Kamran
Kamran Hamidi specializes in advising management and lenders with respect to the proposed reorganizations of companies in financial distress and performing in-depth analysis of companies’ business affairs to develop restructuring plans. Mr. Hamidi has expertise in developing strategic business plans, undertaking business reviews, preparing financial models and managing insolvency administrations.
During Mr. Hamidi's career, he has been involved in reorganizations, business plan reviews, cash flow management affairs, insolvency and advisory assignments in a wide variety of industries including aviation, mining, retail and telecommunications. Mr. Hamidi was a key member of the Sears Canada restructuring where he developed financial models to help raise $450 million of DIP financing, evaluated proposals as part of the sales process, and participated in complex negotiations with creditors.
Mr. Hamidi also has experience in cross-border restructurings, having been involved in Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 proceedings. More recently, he has been involved in the restructuring of Latam Airlines, the largest airline in South America, where he helped develop the company’s strategic business plan to raise $2.5 billion of DIP financing.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Hamidi was a Manager at Deloitte in the Audit segment, specializing in their Financial Institutions group. There, he led client engagements of large banks and investment funds where he reviewed internal controls and audited financial statements.
Mr. Hamidi holds a B.B.A. (honors with distinction) degree from the Schulich School of Business (York University) in Toronto, Canada. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
