About Kevin
Kevin E. Cahill is a Managing Director in the Economic Consulting segment with 25 years of consulting experience in commercial litigation, labor economics and applied econometrics, including 20 years of testifying experience.
Kevin’s litigation cases have spanned a variety of industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, entertainment, insurance, real estate and airlines. His casework has included statistical analyses of discrimination, economic damages calculations, analyses of anticompetitive behavior and market power, and merger evaluations. Kevin also leads consulting projects that require customized economic and statistical analyses. He has examined proprietary data to test for discrimination against protected classes, constructed sampling designs for randomized controlled trials, estimated difference-in-differences models to assess environmental contamination, and conducted health outcomes research based on epidemiological data.
In addition to serving as an expert witness and consultant, Kevin is an active contributor to the fields of labor economics and applied econometrics. He has authored dozens of articles and book chapters over the past 25 years and has presented his research at nearly 100 conferences. His research is empirically based, and his projects have been funded by grants from nonprofit and government organizations.
Kevin is a member of the American Economic Association, the National Academy of Social Insurance, the Gerontological Society of America and the Western Economics Association International. Additionally, he is a past president of the National Association of Forensic Economics, a founding member of the editorial board of Work, Aging, and Retirement, and an editorial board member and reviewer for a variety of academic journals.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Kevin was a partner at ECOnorthwest and held positions at Analysis Group and Abt Associates. He earned his B.A. in mathematics and economics with honors from Rutgers College and his M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Boston College.
