About Louie
Louie Wu is a Senior Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment and is also a member of FTI Consulting’s Construction, Environmental and Government Contracts practice. Louie has more than 20 years of forensic accounting experience preparing independent accounting, financial, and damages analyses for clients. He has conducted fraud investigations and has extensive experience in the construction industry assisting clients with project monitoring, project control reviews, policy and procedure reviews, contract audits, and change order and claim analyses.
Mr. Wu has assisted companies in the construction, fabrication and manufacturing, healthcare, aerospace, insurance, software, wireless, pharmaceutical, education, oil and gas, hospitality, gaming, and retail industries, as well as public utilities and local and federal government agencies.
Mr. Wu's litigation consulting experience includes conducting forensic accounting investigations to analyze, quantify, and document fraudulent transactions; preparing numerous financial and accounting analyses for use in arbitration, mediation and formal court settings; preparing expert reports to explain damages methodologies and calculations in multiple state and federal civil actions; presenting independent findings during mediation proceedings; assisting counsel during depositions, hearings, arbitrations, mediations and trial; and providing expert witness testimony. His commercial litigation experience includes assisting counsel during construction disputes, insurance coverage issues, fraud investigations, wireless carrier litigation, government contract disputes, labor and employment litigation, and other contract disputes.
Mr. Wu has significant experience in the construction industry and has provided construction project monitoring services to numerous clients. Mr. Wu has prepared, audited, and analyzed numerous construction claims; conducted numerous contract audits to determine if contracted duties and responsibilities were fulfilled and if billings were in accordance with contract terms; performed contract cost analyses and evaluated the financial performance of construction contractors; and conducted multiple forensic accounting investigations to determine if any fraudulent transactions occurred during the construction project.
Mr. Wu has also assisted many clients, including facilities development and internal audit departments, in evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the client’s capital program organization, processes, policies, and procedures. Mr. Wu’s experience also includes performing financial audits of a real estate development and management company and a regional civil engineering consulting firm.
Mr. Wu’s financial and analytical consulting experience includes providing on-call business and financial management services to a large software company and assisting a Fortune 100 company develop and evaluate a cost-benefit analysis for off-shoring software application development and testing work to India. In addition, Mr. Wu assisted an international telecommunications consortium in building financial models to analyze and evaluate the profitability of obtaining spectrum licenses for wireless operations in Europe.
Mr. Wu has a B.A. in business administration (accounting) from the University of Washington. He is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants.
