Malvinder Singh

Malvinder Singh is a Senior Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Data and Technology Transformation practice. He brings over 25 years of technology leadership experience, focusing on private equity value creation.

Malvinder specialises in complex IT operating model transformations and has extensive experience across the entire private equity deal cycle. His expertise spans diligence, complex carve-outs, post-merger integration, digital target operating models and bottom-up cost optimisation programs.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Malvinder was a Partner at EY-Parthenon in Germany, where he set up the Private Equity Technology Value Creation practice.

Earlier in his career Malvinder spent over seven years at Alvarez & Marsal, where he served multiple interim CIO roles whilst executing on tech driven business restructuring.

Prior to consulting, Malvinder held several in-house tech leadership roles as Programme Director and CIO, driving hands-on delivery and organisational change.

Relevant Experience:

• Interim CIO at PE owned distressed Business Services organisation. Delivered radical IT cost reduction of approximately 70%, driven by new operating model.
• Interim CIO at a PE owned marketing services organisation. Leveraged IT carve out to optimise costs approximately 43% and deliver greenfield SaaS based operating model.
• Led the IT carve-out of global PE owned industrials asset, including leverage of TSA period to transform operating model – focusing on the nearshore team, migration to cloud, software defined infrastructure, cyber capability and streamlined IT spend.
• IT carve out of a German/US PE owned Industrials asset, including application rationalisation, infrastructure modernisation and team set up.
• CIO at a UK based global Aviation data business, including delivering new operating model, infrastructure harmonisation and streamlining of costs.
• Interim CIO at a PE owned global chemicals business, revamping a failing ERP implementation.
• Programme lead at global media/data organisation, consolidating 39 Finance systems, 12 HR systems and the underlying fragmented process landscape (O2C, P2P, A2R, HR) across 17 autonomous operating companies.
