Maple Zhao

Maple Zhao is a member of FTI Consulting’s Senior Lender Advisory practice. Ms. Zhao has extensive experience providing financial advisory services to companies and creditors in distressed situations, through both in- and out-of-court restructuring processes.

Ms. Zhao is experienced in multiyear business plan analysis, liquidity and cash flow management, borrowing base review, debtor-in-possession (“DIP”) financing assessment, debt negotiations and evaluations of strategic alternatives in restructurings. She specializes in representing senior lenders through transitioning or distressed transactions, and has worked with a wide range of businesses, including financial institutions and corporations of different sizes. Her industry experience spans energy, mining, consumer and retail, healthcare, technology and real estate.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. Zhao worked on the Corporate and Investment Banking Credit Risk team at JP Morgan, where she began her professional career. In this role, she managed a portfolio of companies across the credit quality spectrum in the oil and gas, power and utilities and renewables sectors. She negotiated and advised on various financial transactions, including project financing, acquisition financing, corporate loan originations, complex amendment processes and restructurings. Ms. Zhao was also responsible for reviewing credit legal documentation, conducting financial analysis and leading qualitative and quantitative due diligence.

Ms. Zhao holds a B.A. with a double major in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics and Business Administration and Management from Rice University.
