Marco Shek

Marco Shek is a Managing Director in the Economic & Financial Consulting segment of FTI Consulting and is based in London. Marco has more than 14 years of experience in valuation and assessment of damages in the context of international arbitration and litigation.

In contentious matters, Marco has managed projects in providing expert reports and supporting testifying experts. Marco has advised clients in litigation and arbitration matters, including investor-state disputes, post-acquisition disputes, shareholder disputes, contractual claims, fraud claims and investigations. He has assisted with the preparation of expert reports and managed expert teams in submissions to the UK, European Union and Hong Kong courts, as well as in arbitrations under the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, International Chamber of Commerce, International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, London Court of International Arbitration, Singapore International Arbitration Centre and United Nations Commission on International Trade Law rules.

Marco has assessed damages and valued assets and businesses across multiple industries, including financial services, oil and gas, mining, industrial and manufacturing sectors. He has also led economic analyses using event studies to assess the impact on share prices from negative news announcements. In non-contentious matters, Marco has advised clients in valuing their equity portfolios, loan books and economic analysis related to strategy reviews, project financing and restructuring.

Marco holds a M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics in the United Kingdom. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a certified Financial Risk Manager.
