Martin Wilczynski

Martin Wilczynski is a Senior Advisor at FTI Consulting, where he advises clients on forensic accounting, financial reporting and regulatory enforcement matters. With more than 40 years of experience spanning the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”), public accounting and consulting, Mr. Wilczynski brings deep expertise in SEC and DOJ investigations, complex litigation support and corporate internal reviews.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Wilczynski served on the accounting staff of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement, where he participated in conducting investigations of possible securities law violations involving financial fraud and disclosure issues. He began his consulting career at Ten Eyck Associates, a boutique forensic accounting firm focused on SEC enforcement matters. After FTI Consulting acquired the firm in 2003, he went on to serve as a Senior Managing Director and held leadership roles within the firm’s U.S. Forensic Accounting practice.

Throughout his consulting career, Mr. Wilczynski has supported law firms, public companies and boards in navigating high-profile enforcement actions and financial misconduct cases, including serving as co-leader of the global FTI Consulting team providing investigative support to the court-appointed Trustee and his counsel on the Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities liquidation. He also led the Enforcement & Forensic Accounting practice at Ankura Consulting before returning to FTI Consulting.

Mr. Wilczynski has presented to regulators and enforcement agencies on complex accounting issues such as revenue recognition, earnings management, internal controls and reserves. He is a regular speaker at industry conferences and a recognized authority on SEC financial enforcement trends.

Mr. Wilczynski began his career as an auditor at a Big 4 accounting firm and holds a Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) license in New York.
