Matt Chaggaris

Matt Chaggaris is a member of the Transactions practice and is based in Boston. At FTI Consulting, Mr. Chaggaris works on transaction-focused due diligence teams to help represent buyers, sellers or lenders and offers support in evaluating investment opportunities.

Mr. Chaggaris’ buy-side experience includes analyzing quality of earnings, net working capital, debt and debt-like items and the risks associated with proposed transactions. His sell-side experience covers the evaluation of businesses or entities for sale, including quality of earnings, net working capital, revenue recognition, business plan forecasting and post-close support. Mr. Chaggaris’ buy-side clients have included both large and middle-market private equity funds, lenders and strategic investors, while his sell-side clients have included businesses in software, healthcare, agriculture and professional services.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Chaggaris worked as a senior associate in CliftonLarsonAllen’s transaction advisory services practice, focusing on middle-market companies. Preceding this role, he worked in assurance services, leading engagement teams in performing annual financial statement audits.

Mr. Chaggaris holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Accountancy from Bentley University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Massachusetts.

Relevant Experience:

• Led buy-side diligence on a publicly traded software-as-a-service business with global operations and revenues exceeding $500 million; provided analyses around the company’s International Financial Reporting Standards to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles conversion and its impacts on EBITA and net working capital
• Led buy-side financial diligence on a global, vertically integrated fruit grower and distributor with revenues exceeding $700 million
• Performed carve-out and financial diligence of a large hospital system merger in the United States
• Performed buy-side diligence and three-year forecast review of a globally recognized consumer products brand
• Led buy-side financial and carve-out diligence of a large avocado procurer, re-packer and third-party logistics provider located in the United States
