Matt Hodges

Matt Hodges is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting and co-leads the Corporate Tax Compliance and Advisory team within our European Tax Advisory practice. He has significant experience working with large and complex businesses on group planning and cross-border corporate tax advisory projects, tax risk management and tax reporting, including groups headquartered in both the UK and overseas, as well as across a range of industries.

Matt advises on group reorganisations and planning, transaction support, tax relief optimisation and tax risk management. He also assists many of his clients across the full range of tax compliance and reporting requirements.

Matt joined FTI Consulting with its acquisition of substantially all of LECG’s European operations, where he helped lead the Corporate Tax team within the European Tax group. Before that, he was a senior manager with Bourne Business Consulting and had been a corporate tax specialist with Deloitte and Andersen, originally joining Andersen as a scholar in 1995.

• Managed provision of full tax compliance, advisory and transaction services for a listed European group
• Provided full tax compliance services to a large luxury retail business; included substantial advisory and transaction support on the group’s property portfolio held through non-resident landlord entities
• Provided cross-border and M&A tax planning for a European data centre business
• Provided tax due diligence to an international technology business
• Provided full tax function support to a leading UK hotel group
• Led the refinancing of a global travel business
• Provided tax advisory and compliance support to an international rail business
• Assisted a global shipping group with tax enquiries into the disposal of a business
