Matt Pearce

Matt Pearce is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment and is based in London. Matt specialises in advising corporates, lenders and sponsors through navigating complex stressed and distressed situations.

Matt joined the firm in 2018 and his experience includes financial restructuring and capital structure advisory, stakeholder management, business plan reviews and builds, short-term liquidity assessments, options analysis and interim finance management.

Matt has broad experience across a variety of industries, including chemicals, oil and gas, travel and hospitality, infrastructure, retail and consumer goods, working with listed, private equity-owned and family-owned businesses.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Matt was part of the FTSE Audit practice at Deloitte LLP. He holds a first-class degree in accounting and finance from the University of East Anglia and is a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Relevant Experience:

• Served as financial advisor to a European chemicals group; included business plan build, stakeholder management, options analysis and liquidity management
• Served as financial advisor to a European infrastructure group with more than €1 billion of debt
• Served as financial advisor to the European creditors of Steinhoff International in respect to a multijurisdictional debt restructuring involving more than €10 billion of debt
• Served as financial advisor to the revolving credit facility (‘RCF’) lenders of Thomas Cook plc; included an independent business review, short-term liquidity review and options analysis
• Served as financial advisor to a lender of a Nordic telecommunications business; included business plan review and short-term liquidity assessment
• Served as financial advisor to RCF lenders for a number of oil and gas businesses; included business plan and short-term liquidity reviews and options analysis
• Served as financial advisor to lenders and bondholders for a number of UK listed retailers; included business plan and short-term liquidity reviews and options analysis
