Matthew Chivers

Matthew Chivers has more than 18 years of commercial, corporate advisory and turnaround experience in complex situations. Matthew has led projects for financial institutions in restructuring and turnaround advisory, managed operations of underperforming businesses and managed business sale and capital raising transactions.

Matthew provides services including interim operational and transformational leadership; the development and implementation of turnaround plans; cash and working capital management; forecasting and sensitivity analysis; operational and financial reporting; independent business reviews; financial modelling; and M&A transactions in distressed and non-distressed circumstances.

Matthew is passionate about working collaboratively with teams to drive sustainable performance and implement change in complex situations. He has experience across a broad range of industries, including mining, retail and consumer products, wholesale, distribution, manufacturing, financial services, transport, marine and property.

Matthew has led numerous informal restructuring assignments, including independent business and strategic reviews on behalf of companies and secured lenders, and has led restructuring and turnaround transformation programmes in time-sensitive and financially challenging environments.

Relevant Experience:

• Australian Potash Limited — Management of voluntary administration (‘VA’) process and successful Deed of Company Arrangement (‘DOCA’) outcome
• Wiluna Mining Limited — Operational and financial management leadership under VA from July 2022 to August 2023 DOCA, with involvement in dual-track sale and recapitalisation process
• Gascoyne Resources Limited — Acted as Interim CFO of ASX-listed Western Australian gold producer; led both operational and financial management under VA; involved in dual-track sale and recapitalisation process and ASX continuous disclosure obligations; company reinstated to ASX in October 2021
