Michael Peretz

Michael Peretz is a Senior Advisor and Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting with more than 25 years of experience advising global financial services companies, government-sponsored enterprises, mortgage originators and financial technology firms. Mr. Peretz specializes in housing finance, banking, payments and risk management, with a proven track record of leading multiyear programs, enterprise-wide transformations and digital innovation initiatives. He is recognized for his ability to help clients enhance profitability, reduce risk and drive operational efficiencies while navigating complex regulatory and market environments. Mr. Peretz has been a frequent commentator in industry publications, including American Banker and National Mortgage News, on the future of housing finance and the digitization of mortgage processes.

Most recently, Mr. Peretz served as Executive Director and Practice Lead of Housing Finance at Capco. In this role, he was responsible for client growth, large-scale implementations and business process improvement projects. He was also a member of the firm’s U.S. Banking and Payments leadership team, managing more than 100 professionals and revenues exceeding $100 million.

Previously, Mr. Peretz was a Director in PwC’s Advisory practice, delivering projects in core banking, commercial lending and housing finance. Earlier, he served as Managing Director of Capital Markets and Strategic Development at DAS Acquisition Company, where he guided origination growth strategies, loan delivery techniques and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (“CFPB”) compliance.

Mr. Peretz also held senior leadership roles at Altisource (Lenders One Mortgage Cooperative), overseeing acquisitions, origination services and specialty services for a global workforce of more than 600 professionals. Additionally, he co-founded Patriot Lenders, the first alliance of non-prime independent mortgage bankers, where he managed operations and strategic development. Earlier in his career, he was CEO of Capital Lending Company and Executive Vice President at Collateral One Mortgage Corporation, where he scaled operations, developed secondary market strategies and significantly grew enterprise value.

Mr. Peretz holds a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Kentucky.
