Michael Yoshimura

Michael Yoshimura provides interim management and company-side financial advisory services to organizations in both distressed and non-distressed situations. Mr. Yoshimura brings more than 10 years of experience assisting organizations in a range of industries, including Software as a Service (“SaaS”), technology, life sciences and entertainment.

Mr. Yoshimura has served as the co-Chief Restructuring Officer (“CRO”) for numerous engagements across various industries. In addition, he has extensive experience counseling executive teams and financial departments on the formal restructuring process and is proficient in developing cash flow models and liquidity forecasts.

A representative list of Mr. Yoshimura’s clients includes Avianca, the second largest airline in Latin America; Invitae Corporation, an industry-leading genetics testing company; and The McClatchy Company, the second-largest local news company in the United States; among many others.

Relevant Experience:

• Served as co-CRO for an aerospace and defense contractor; led a team to develop a liquidity forecast and five-year business plan projection; helped the client closely manage its liquidity so it could repay its legacy debt facilities while giving it adequate runaway to pursue an out-of-court sales process
• Served as co-CRO for a video conferencing company; helped negotiate terms of the debtor-in-possession (“DIP”) financing with the existing secured lender; led the company through its bankruptcy process, resulting in the sale of substantially all of the debtors’ assets, and oversaw the development of the debtors’ financial reporting packages to the bankruptcy court
• Advised an industry-leading healthcare revenue cycle management (“RCM”) company; worked directly with the CFO to backfill its Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis role; helped streamline analyses calculating EBITDA adjustments; revamped quarterly reporting packages to the PE sponsor and lender groups
• Assisted a PE-sponsored retail chain with $2.5 billion in annual sales on the development of an operating cash flow model and liquidity forecast to help consummate a restructuring transaction of the business
• Advised a group of lenders to a large, multinational entertainment company in Latin America; completed a review of its three-statement model and sensitized the model for post-COVID business recovery assumptions
• Worked with a privately held business process outsourcing company; conducted a review of its business plan model and addressed diligence questions of potential equity investors and the company’s lender group
• Advised the secured lender group of a post-production media and entertainment company; worked with the company’s controller to review its vendor management processes and funding requests for its international subsidiaries
