About Navid
Navid Ariaban is a Managing Director in the Construction, Projects & Assets practice with more than 20 years of experience in the engineering, construction and real estate industries. With a background as a structural engineer, Navid has held various roles, including management consultant, capital projects leader, construction project manager and design/field engineer.
Navid provides value-added services throughout the capital project lifecycle, supporting the effective and efficient delivery of capital programs and construction projects. He has significant expertise providing capital project strategy and assessing and developing capital project governance and control frameworks, including the overall end-to-end process. Additionally, Navid assists clients in evaluating project financials due diligence, conducting construction audits and assessments, providing change management support, managing risks and overseeing project management offices (“PMOs”).
Navid has advised data centers, as well as clients in the power and utilities sectors, such as oil and gas, nuclear and hydro companies. Additionally, his clients have included banks, global and domestic public sector agencies, private equity firms, multifamily properties, commercial clients and institutions. He also has experience in the financial services, healthcare, hospitality and transportation sectors.
Navid holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland, a Certificate in Construction Management from Columbia University and a Certificate in Business Administration from Georgetown University.
Relevant Experience:
- Conducted a comprehensive construction assessment for a multifamily renovation following a significant fire affecting 30% of the units; delivered a cost-basis analysis including estimates, schedules, revenue forecasts, risk assessment and contract review
- Developed capital budgeting processes, conducted site-selection due diligence and managed budgeting, scheduling and financial forecasting for a data center; optimized construction, achieved a $100 million capital-to-operations cost offset and reduced the schedule by four months
- Performed risk management assessments on nuclear plant projects; evaluated vendor quality, test procedures, contract administration, schedule, metrics, insurance, budget and cost management
- Managed PMO services for two manufacturing facilities valued at more than $200 million each; oversaw governance, procurement, estimating, cost, risk and schedule management
