About Ollie
Ollie Welch supports businesses with the political and reputational challenges of operating in highly-regulated sectors, winning and executing government contracts, adapting to technology transition and delivering export-led growth.
Having led numerous public advocacy and policy development projects across the high-value manufacturing sector, Ollie has sat as a policy expert on ministerial working groups and contributed to government-led policy formulation on issues relevant to industry and the supply chain.
Ollie previously worked for the UK’s national trade association for manufacturing, where he was responsible for policy and engagement in the defence, aerospace, security and automotive sectors. He is also a former director of a bespoke trade body supporting small businesses and new entrants to defence.
Ollie began his career in the civil service, working across a variety of departments including the Cabinet Office, Ministry of Defence and what is now the Department for International Trade. During this time he was variously responsible for issues relating to government industrial policy, including strategic sustainability, contracting and procurement policy, support to exports and inward investment. He is a former private secretary to a government minister and also has experience in international relations, intelligence analysis and in an operational environment.
