Pat Buffolino

Pat Buffolino specializes in finance transformation, financial planning and analysis (“FP&A”) and enterprise performance management (“EPM”). Mr. Buffolino has more than 30 years of finance and consulting experience advising CFOs and finance leaders on transforming the finance function and leveraging technology to improve planning, forecasting, reporting, analytics and enterprise performance.

Mr. Buffolino helps organizations define and execute finance transformation strategies aligned with business objectives across people, process, data, governance and technology. His experience spans FP&A transformation, EPM strategy and modernization, finance operating models and architecture, strategic and driver-based planning, forecasting, consolidation, reporting, analytics and performance management. He also advises on EPM and finance technology selection and optimization.

Mr. Buffolino has led complex, global finance and EPM transformation programs for Fortune 500 and PE-backed companies across financial services, life sciences, energy, real estate and professional services. He has led more than 25 EPM implementations and transformation programs, with experience across Oracle EPM, OneStream and Adaptive Planning. These programs have spanned transformation strategies, technology roadmaps, enterprise-wide planning, forecasting, consolidation and reporting solutions.

Mr. Buffolino is a recognized EPM thought leader, having authored multiple whitepapers and presented at industry conferences, including OneStream Splash and Oracle OpenWorld. He also brings extensive experience building and leading finance transformation and EPM consulting practices. 

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Buffolino was a Managing Director and FP&A Transformation Practice Lead at CrossCountry Consulting, where he founded and grew the firm’s Enterprise FP&A Transformation practice. Previously, he held EPM and finance transformation leadership roles at PwC and Deloitte Consulting.

Relevant Experience:

• Led a three-year global FP&A transformation and EPM implementation for a Fortune 500 asset manager, including driver-based planning, strategic modeling and a finance target operating model that reduced the FP&A cycle by eight weeks
• Led finance architecture and transformation roadmaps for global financial services organizations, including enterprise resource planning (“ERP”) and EPM system selection, financial data model design and FP&A and record-to-report process enhancements
• Led more than 25 global EPM implementations and transformation programs leveraging Oracle EPM, OneStream and Workday Adaptive Planning across planning, forecasting, strategic modeling, financial consolidation, reporting and analytics
• Advised CFOs and senior finance leaders on finance transformation strategy and technology modernization, including EPM strategy, finance architecture, operating model design, ERP/EPM modernization, chart of accounts and enterprise reporting
• Founded and scaled an enterprise FP&A transformation and EPM consulting practice, establishing its go-to-market strategy, delivery methodologies and technology alliances and growing the practice to more than $5 million in annual sales
